Poetry Meera Krishna

Meera Krishna Poetry

Friends,

I have always been fascinated by the emotional peak in the poetry of Meera for Krishna. Initially I was unable to find anything in such poetry but with passage of time, I also got carried away and attracted by the approach and attitude (if i can use this word) of surrender and statements or words of praise and desire by Meera for Lord Krishna. They are also very expressive of desire of her beloved and full of appreciation and involvement of her for the beloved. I just picked one poetry of few lines and tried to express whatever I can, the emotion of Meera, her amazing expectations also and her view of Krishna. Here is the poetry

Meera Krishna Poetry

Let my eyes be your home, and you always live in me

I shall see you when I wake up and see you whenever I go to sleep

When my eyes open it’s just you and so when I catch dreams

(These lines search the God through the medium of beauty. Here ‘Sanwra’ is about dark colored beloved, which is symbolic of depth. Some people feel amazed on use of word ‘Sanwara’ (dark) for beauty in poetry but it is symbolic to infinite depth of beauty which is not just limited to skin but to heart and spirits. It doesn’t mean he is dark-colored but it can be used for anyone to express beyond Skin)

Your Enchanting figure and dark beauty,

And big eyes forever look at me, follow me, keep watching me, gazing me deeply

(Peacock feather comprise of all colors, is symbolic to all or infinite colors of life and beauty in Krishna)

Decorated with crown of colors (peacock feather) and fish shaped ear rings and red color on forehead

Placed on your lower lips, the world’s most beautiful seat of your flute

Showering the rain of fondness, warmth, intimacy, and abundance of love, as soon as you sing,

Wearing your garland of Vaijayanti-mala, the flute leans on your skin, and speaks notes of your heart and soul

Creating delightful music

Filled with special love for your worshipper, the love for no reason

Like I am your helpless, undeserving child.

Incapable and Unworthy of even thanking you and you still a giver..
