Daksh Prajapati Temple, Haridwar
Today I got the chance to visit the unique Daksh Prajapati Mandir also known as Daksha Mahadev Temple, is the iconic and the oldest temple of Haridwar in Uttarakhand, India.
This temple has various important points to note as it is oldest since 1810 and based on name of ‘Daksha’ (you won’t find his temple anywhere else). It is also unique because it is located at Kankhal, adjacent to river Ganga. It also carries more significance due to the fact that it occupies a place in the list of five sacred sites in the town of Haridwar in Uttarakhand.
So while coming from Dehradun, I thought to give a visit here. The internal photography is not allowed so I took some mobile clips of outside the temple. This temple also has a unique history of Lord Shiva and Sati, which makes it very mysterious and appealing. Besides that you will find lot of interesting small temples dedicated to various deity and planets along with big old Banyan Tree and Fig Trees. So with the flowing Ganga besides, the whole site becomes very interesting, spiritual in experience.
Here are some pics and video clips for you.
